The Opportunity

As the Sales Engineer, you will play an invaluable role by owning all of our technical processes around customer onboarding. You'll be the face of Haul Hub and main point of contact for the IT staff for all of our clients and an integral early impression of Haul Hub.

You will partner with our sales and customer success teams as a technical resource while engaging with prospective clients within the heavy civil construction space. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding potential customers' technical systems and integrating our platform through APIs and installations of Dell's Boomi tool. This integration is the fundamental requirement of delivering our solution and critical to our success.


You are customer obsessed; technically adept; and drive a high activity workflow across several concurrent engagements.

You will be accountable for establishing and maintaining our integrations with the POS and plant management systems of asphalt, cement, ready mix, and aggregate suppliers. You will report to the VP of Sales of Haul Hub, with deliverables to the VP of Customer Success and work closely with the Business Intelligence and Engineering teams.

You must be able to think strategically and execute tactically as well as bring hustle and drive to the position.

  • Design, develop, deploy and maintain integration processes between applications across cloud and/or on premise using Dell Boomi AtomSphere platform
  • Help manage, support, and prioritize sales opportunities maintaining account and deal updates within our CRM
  • Be creative and explore ways to improve customer experience and technical capabilities of our service offerings including ways to automate our processes
  • Develop scripts for data reconciliation and for automation
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support existing Integrations and data quality issues in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop, document and demonstrate integration patterns and strategies, built primarily using the Dell Boomi Platform
  • Thoroughly understand the needs and challenges of our customer base and how our solutions address them and continuously develop a deeper understanding of our target market: heavy / industrial contracting
  • Support conversations with complementary industry partners in technical ability to integrate services
  • Ability to push for participation by clients' IT staff
  • Work with Business Intelligence team to optimize sales and marketing tools
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs


  • Strong drive to move the business forward every day
  • 2+ years of building integrations using Dell Boomi
  • 2+ years of Ruby on Rails experience
  • Quantifiable knowledge of enterprise technologies including JSON, SOAP/RESTful/oData APIs, Databases, EDI
  • Are a metrics- and data-driven decision-maker
  • Are comfortable in a rapidly-changing environment
  • Are collaborative, a team player with strong people skills
  • SQL language proficiency
  • Experience with Asphalt, Cement, Ready Mix, Concrete and Aggregate plant management and POS systems (eg Libra, Astec, Apex) preferred
